Is Atlantis real? If so, where can we find it? These were the questions our Kampers were asking all day, and tonight they stumbled upon the real thing...K-West style! Here's a glimpse into our craziest party thus far!

Sunday afternoon activities are always a treat. Yesterday the girls had a dodgeball tournament, but this wasn't just any dodgeball...it was themed! Every cabin had to come up with team name and coordinating costumes. It was also Olympic themed with opening ceremonies and all!
Opening Ceremonies of the term 2 K-West Dodgeball Tournament!
Exclusive interview with cabin 5...
The Crazy 8's of Cabin 8 win!!!
Watching the finals...
We ended with staff vs. Kampers...Spook held strong, but in the end the Kampers prevailed!
This has been the best addition to our schedule for sure! YWUYAAB (You Wouldn't Understand, You Are a Boy!) was once again a hit! From breakfast in bed, to an intense cake decorating competition, to a post lunch pool party and into our term 2 talent show, the day was a blast! Here are some highlights...
Cabin 3 wins!
Sno cones at the pool party!
Cabin 10 wins the talent show!
Super fun day and a great change in schedule for our girls!
Tonight we had the chance to end K-Life with Joe White speaking on purity. We live in a culture where impurity is prevalent and accepted and is appealing to our kids at even a younger age than ever. We long to develop dynamic Christian leaders around here, and living a life of purity is one more way to do that. Most importantly, we long for our Kampers to know and love Jesus. One way we express our love is by how we live our lives. Our hope and prayer is that our Kampers will understand their value in Christ's sight and make good decisions because of this.
Last night our Kampers were surprised with an unexpected Lecrae concert, and they LOVED it!!!! Not only did we have a blast, but he also taught and rapped a ton of truth filled words. Our Kampers were challenged and had a blast!
I have some great footage, but I'm having trouble uploading it. Hopefully I can get it up soon.
Until then...

For whatever reason, Kampers LOVE K-Life! Think about the craziest games you can imagine...that's what happens at K-Life along with some worship and ends with a very practical, biblical talk. Here's a bit of insight into last night...
Dancing telephone...just like the game your thinking but with dance moves!
Sunday afternoons (we had Sunday on Wednesday) are always filled with some sort of crazy fun activity, and yesterday was no different. Kanakuk has implemented a new endeavor this year. As we strive to develop dynamic Christian leaders at Kanakuk, we long for our Kampers to be filled with character. Therefore each year, Kampers will walk away with a different character quality. We long for this to be more of experience and something Kampers will remember doing rather than another talk they hear. So, the 12 year olds attended a birthday party and learned about teamwork, the 13 year olds played Bingo while brownies were unequally divided on their tables to discover selflessness and the 14 year olds ventured through kamp on a scavenger hunt as they discovered faithfulness. We long to have integrity filled Kampers walk out of our gates. We'd love for you to follow up with your Kampers on what they were able to take away from each of their individual experiences with these qualities. We have started spinning the wheels in this area of their lives; keep spinning them when your Kampers come home.

It's Sunday at K-West! Our Kampers love sleeping in, coffee cake, I'm third church with Joe White and a change in schedule. Check out how much cabin 11 LOVES coffee cake...a kamp klassic!!!
There aren't many things we repeat at kamp, but the K-West western party is one we'll do again and again because it's such a Kamper favorite. Once again the watermelon was cut, iced root beer was served, country classics were played and lots of two-stepping and line dances were performed. Why?! Because it was time for the Stampede!!!!!
The fellas are ready...
The chicken fingers, cheesy potatoes and cobbler are always a favorite picnic!
Komo 8 during the picnic!
A glimpse into the dance floor!
Another successful western party here at K-West! Thanks for letting us hang out with your kids!
If you've ever been to K-West (staff or kamper), do you have a favorite western party memory?! Leave us a comment about it
It was the last party of the term, and it was a hit! The Kampers bombarded K-West with their water gear to dive into the depths of the ocean to find Atlantis. As you will see in the footage, it seems as though they found it. However, they didn't just find it...they danced the night away in it!!
Follow these Kampers into Atlantis... A view from the top... Water party + dance party=epic amounts of fun!
First I'd like to apologize for the lack of posts. I have been experiencing major technical difficulties. We're working out the kinks, so hopefully I can post more consistently.
Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to start a new segment entitled, A Day in the Life of... Throughout the summer, I will highlight all sorts of venues, time frames and people through this segment. Today, we begin with A Day In the Life of...FOB! What is FOB you might ask?! Well, let me tell you...it's rest period and stands for 'flat on back.' Judging by these videos, there's not much 'flat' happening! Mafia for the boys... FOB is a favorite part of our Kampers' days because they are cool, can rest and bond with their cabins. Thanks for walking through 'A Day in the Life of' with me today. Until next time...
Yesterday was easily a highlight of term 1! We had the first ever K-West 'Man Day' and YWUYAAB (you wouldn't understand, you are a boy) Day! The boys rotated through stations learning all sorts of 'man things' including etiquette, celebration dances, changing a tire, knot tying, building fires and they even had a formal dinner. Here are some sneak peeks into their day...
